We wrapped The Great Balloon last week and I am glad it’s over! I love the thrill of creating but filmmaking is quite stressful… time for a welcome rest.
There’s this feeling after you wrap a short film where you’re not sure if what you got is what you imagined. You know the scenes because you were there for all of them, but you don’t actually know what the film is yet. That only happens in the edit. And right now I’m carrying around a film that hasn’t become itself.
Of course I want to share the latest with you first!
The Inheritance anthology is becoming something I didn’t fully expect when I started it. Wilted Flower was about one thing and The Great Balloon is about something else entirely, but they’re connected in ways that are getting clearer to me now that I have two of them. I hope you’re getting something out of following along, whether it’s the craft side, the behind the scenes, or just a furthering of the belief that you can actually make these things and put them into the world yourself.
More soon!
